PRODUCT INFORMATION

Details, specifications & applications

Clear 10 × 10 inch single-pane glass for square frames, cabinet inserts, displays, and compatible window repairs. This listing includes one unframed sheet of clear annealed glass made to a nominal finished size of 10 inches wide by 10 inches high. Its balanced square format works especially well where a compact pane needs clean sightlines without the added thickness of an insulated glass unit.

Product specifications

  • Finished size: 10 in W × 10 in H (nominal)
  • Glass type: clear annealed single-pane flat glass
  • Available thicknesses: select from the options shown on this product page
  • Standard edge: seamed for safer handling; decorative edge upgrades are quoted separately
  • Included: one glass pane only
  • Not included: frame, sash, glazing tape, stops, putty, sealant, hardware, removal, or installation

Where a 10 × 10 glass pane can be used

The 10-inch square format is a practical choice for compatible picture and artwork frames, shadow boxes, cabinet-door inserts, small display openings, craft and restoration projects, protected tabletop accents, and selected residential sash repairs. It can also serve as a starting size when a slightly smaller square or rectangular pane is required. Always confirm that annealed glass is permitted for the intended location.

Selecting the right thickness

  • 1/16 in (approximately 1.5 mm): a lightweight option for small supported frames and protected inserts.
  • 1/8 in (approximately 3 mm): a common general-purpose choice for frames, cabinet inserts, displays, and small compatible sash panes.
  • 3/16 in (approximately 5 mm): provides additional rigidity where the support system and application permit a heavier pane.

Thickness guidance is general information rather than an engineering specification. Select only a variant displayed on this page and confirm compatibility with the frame, supports, hardware, and applicable requirements.

Custom edges, corners, holes, and cutouts

This 10 × 10 pane may be reduced to a smaller finished rectangle before fabrication. Quoted options can include standard seamed edges, flat-polished edges, pencil-polished edges, beveled edges where feasible, square or clipped corners, radius corners, drilled holes, notches, cutouts, and approved custom shapes. These services are not included in the base price unless specifically shown as a selected option.

For custom work, provide a dimensioned drawing that identifies finished width and height, edge finish, hole diameter, quantity, hole-center locations, corner radii, notches, and cutouts. Feasibility depends on glass thickness and the distance between each feature, edge, and corner. We confirm price and production requirements before fabrication. If tempering is requested, all cutting, drilling, grinding, and edgework must be completed before heat treatment.

How to measure before ordering

  1. Determine the required finished glass size, not the outside size of the frame or sash.
  2. Measure the opening width and height in more than one location.
  3. Confirm the clearance required by stops, glazing tape, setting blocks, gaskets, putty, or sealant.
  4. Check whether the opening is square and whether the existing pane has clipped corners or another special feature.
  5. When measurements are uncertain, request professional measurement before ordering cut glass.

Annealed glass safety limitations

Standard annealed glass is not safety glazing. Do not select this product by assumption for doors, shower or tub enclosures, guards, railings, hazardous locations, fire-rated assemblies, structural glazing, or any opening that requires tempered or laminated glass. Building-code, human-impact, wind-load, thermal-stress, and installation requirements vary by location and project. A qualified glazing professional should confirm the glass type, thickness, support, edge clearance, and installation method.

Handling and care

Transport and store glass upright with every edge and corner protected. Wear appropriate eye, hand, and body protection. Do not install a scratched, chipped, cracked, or incorrectly sized pane. Clean with a soft lint-free cloth and a non-abrasive glass cleaner; avoid impact at exposed edges and corners.

Before adding to cart

  • Confirm that 10 in × 10 in is the required finished pane size.
  • Select the thickness appropriate for the application.
  • Verify that ordinary annealed glass is allowed in the intended location.
  • Request a fabrication quote if you need a smaller custom size, polished edges, radius corners, holes, notches, cutouts, tint, low-iron glass, lamination, or tempering.

Because cut glass is made to order, specifications should be reviewed carefully before production. Golden Window & Doors may contact you to confirm measurements, fabrication details, handling, lead time, pickup, delivery, or shipping eligibility.
